Matt Damon and Jimmy Kimmel Try to Work Things Out in Couples Therapy

The pair attempted to put their fake feud to rest on Jimmy Kimmel Live! last night.

Matt Damon and Jimmy Kimmel have been feuding (albeit in jest) for over a decade, but the pair finally decided to air out their grievances on Monday night.

The Boston-bred actor and late night host have traded quite a few on-air jabs throughout the years, with the running gag on Jimmy Kimmel Live! being that the show runs out of time before Damon can be brought on stage.

The Martian star once again tried to sneak his way on as guest last night, this time disguised as Dr. Phil, who also appeared on Monday’s episode. However, Kimmel didn’t buy the ruse.

“What are you doing here?” the comedian asked.

“You said that I could be on the show today when we were in therapy,” Damon replied.

This, of course, segued into a hilarious, pre-taped sketch where the actor and Kimmel attempted to work out their differences in a couples therapy session.

Damon revealed during the segment that he waits in a small room every night, just for the chance to appear as a guest on the show.

“I’ve taken over or, as Jimmy would say, he’s been nice enough to give me a room where I come and I wait every night,” Damon said.

“I tried to get him on the show,” Kimmel retorted. “We have other guests, which he doesn’t care about—obviously.”

While things got testy, the duo did eventually have nice things to say about each other.

“I like some of his friends,” Kimmel said. “You know, Ben [Affleck].”

“To be fair I like his show,” Damon said. “I wouldn’t have waited for 12 years to get on if I didn’t like his show.”

Damon wasn’t the only local star on last night’s episode. Quantico actress and former Newton resident Priyanka Chopra was also on as a guest.
