Luxury watch company Tag Heuer introduced Tom Brady as its new brand ambassador at an event in New York City on Tuesday night.

The announcement coincided with the launch of the Swiss manufacturer’s new timepiece and is the latest marquee endorsement for the Patriots quarterback, who has previously partnered with fashion powerhouse UGG.

The news also comes less than a week after Boston magazine posted an investigation into Brady’s business partner and good friend Alex Guerrero. The football star recently came out in defense of Guerrero while appearing on WEEI’s Dennis and Callahan.

In addition to defending the fitness guru, Brady also took a shot at Coca-Cola, calling its products “poison for kids.” The statement was a bit of a surprise considering he used to be a paid spokesman for Glaceau SmartWater, a subsidiary of the soda company.

Despite all of the recent headaches for Brady, the Patriots star didn’t seemed fazed by them while talking with reporters at the event on Tuesday.

He even joked with People about the style tips he gets from his wife and fashion icon Gisele Bündchen.

“She has her own recommendations, and I certainly listen, because if your wife doesn’t like it, then you should probably move on to something else,” Brady said.
