Ben Affleck Bringing Live by Night to Lawrence

Production heads to Massachusetts this week.

Ben Affleck is coming back to town this week as he brings his latest movie, Live by Night, to Lawrence.

According to the Eagle-Tribune, the Massachusetts-bred actor will be shooting part of his new flick starting on Thursday in the city’s downtown area.

Once Affleck kicks off filming, don’t be surprised if you end up in some traffic should you be traveling through Lawrence. The Lawrence Police Department recently tweeted out details on a number of street closures stemming from the production.

Fans have been waiting for the local star to make his way back to the Boston area since he was spotted scouting locations for the film during a quick trip to the city over the summer.

In addition to directing the crime drama, Affleck is set to play protagonist Joe Coughlin, a son of a Boston police captain who finds himself in deep with the mob during the Prohibition era of the 1920s.

The film is based on Dennis Lehane’s popular 2012 novel and will also star Sienna Miller and Zoe Saldana.

Live by Night won’t be hitting theaters until 2017, so expect Affleck to pop up from time to time around town as filming continues.
