Bernie Sanders Gets Coveted Ronda Rousey Endorsement

'I’m voting for Bernie Sanders, because he doesn’t take any corporate money.'

It looks like Ronda Rousey is feeling the Bern.

The UFC women’s bantamweight champion, who’s set to step inside the Octagon against Holly Holm this weekend, revealed in an interview with Maxim magazine that she’s backing Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders for president in 2016.

She admitted that she picked the Democratic presidential hopeful because of his hard stance against taking large campaign donations from corporations.

“I’m voting for Bernie Sanders, because he doesn’t take any corporate money,” Rousey said. “I don’t think politicians should be allowed to take money for their campaigns from outside interests.”

Should Sanders end up losing his bid for the nomination, don’t expect the mixed martial arts superstar to switch to team Hillary Clinton anytime soon.

Rousey said she will probably go the third party route again a la 2012 when she voted for comedian Roseanne Barr, as she was disgusted with the two mainstream candidates running in that election.

“To be honest, in 2012 I was against both candidates and so I just picked any third party because I thought if more people voted for third parties then they’d have to take third parties seriously,” Rousey said.

As one of the best fighters on the planet, the UFC champ has never shied away from letting her political beliefs be known.

Before Donald Trump mistakenly claimed earlier this year that he had Rousey in his corner, she slammed the Republican over his attempt at taking the White House.

“I mean, I wouldn’t vote for him,” Rousey told CNN. “I’m not really going to get into specifics of it, but, I mean, I don’t want a reality TV star to be running my country.”

Maybe when Rousey is done knocking people out and making movies with Mark Wahlberg she can set her sights on being a member of Sanders’ Secret Service team. Perhaps she can even be his running mate.

Sanders Rousey 2016 anyone?
