The Boston Music Community Reacts to Scott Weiland’s Death

Alt-rock legend Scott Weiland was found dead last night at a tour stop in Minnesota. The 48-year-old former frontman of Stone Temple Pilots and Velvet Revolver was scheduled to play a show at the Medina Entertainment Center with his latest band, Scott Weiland and the Wildabouts, but, according to reports, was found unconscious on his tour bus just before the show.
Around midnight on the East Coast, word of Weiland’s death spread fast through social media after Jane’s Addiction guitarist Dave Navarro tweeted the following: “Just learned our friend Scott Weiland has died. So gutted, I am thinking of his family tonight.” While that tweet was deleted about an hour later, multiple news sources confirmed the news, and Weiland’s official Facebook page asked that fans respect his family’s privacy.
