We’re only two months away from Ben Affleck’s debut as the Dark Knight in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, but fans are already clamoring to see what Batfleck has in store for his first solo outing.

There’s been a ton of speculation that Affleck would both direct and star in his own Batman movie down the road. However, the Boston-bred filmmaker hasn’t confirmed whether or not he’d be taking over the director’s chair.

Affleck seems to have a lot on his plate as it is, as he’s set to star in the 2016 thriller The Accountant and is also directing as well as starring in Live by Night, his latest Boston-set crime film based on a book by Dennis Lehane.

According to a recent interview with USA Today, though, Affleck sounds like he’s more open to the idea of directing his first superhero film after working with filmmaker Zack Snyder on Batman v Superman.

“I’ll just say going through the process, I would never have imagined that I could or would direct a movie like this,” Affleck said. “Seeing what he did and watching him every day, I got really inspired by that and by seeing the scope on which he was telling the story, by seeing what he was able to do with this kind of mythic story on a grand scale.”

It’s not an outright confirmation that Affleck will helm his own Batman project, but hopefully the director will end up bringing his Oscar-winning skills behind the camera to Gotham City.

For now, fans will have to be content with seeing Affleck’s on screen work as the Caped Crusader.

Following Batman v Superman, the actor will have a cameo as the Dark Knight in Suicide Squad, which will hit theaters in August. He will then reprise the role in the upcoming Justice League movies.

‘Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice’ will hit theaters on March 25.
