Psych-Pop Band Quilt Announce Concert at the Museum of Fine Arts

Quilt’s upcoming third album Plaza doesn’t feel or sound like your typical new release. So it’s no surprise the release party isn’t going down at your typical venue.
This week the Boston psychedelic pop quartet announced they’re celebrating the February 26 release of Plaza with an expanded live show, complete with strings arrangement, later that night at the Museum of Fine Arts.
“This is a really special show for us and would love you to come,” the band writes online. “We know tickets are a little bit more expensive than for our usual shows…but this one is special. We are going to be having a string quartet playing with us conducted by monsieur Simon ‘Luxardo’ Hanes and will be playing in a beautiful theatre. At the moment we have no plans to do this kind of performance elsewhere—special for Boston, our band’s home city.
Hanes’s own group, the 13-piece Italian-pop ensemble Tredici Bacci, opens the show.

With just over a month until the release of Plaza, Quilt’s third album for Mexican Summer Records, early reviews of the LP and its two singles, “Eliot St.” and “Roller”, have been overwhelmingly positive, garnering praise from NPR and other national outlets.
