#TBT: Get Nostalgic with this 1991 Boston Music Awards Promo

Including an appearance by the New Kids on the Block.

All things considered, 1991 was a pretty good year. Donald Trump was just a loudmouth businessman with no White House ambitions, Cheers was still one of the most popular shows on TV, and the New Kids on the Block were a force to be reckoned with on the airwaves.

Good times.

It was also an awesome year for the Boston Music Awards, as a slew of stars won big at the April 16 show, including NKOTB, who won both Act of the Year and Outstanding Pop Single right in their hometown.

The Boston-bred boy band wasn’t the only local act to come up big, as Aerosmith took home a few awards as well. Steven Tyler, Joe Perry, and the rest of the crew won in the Outstanding Rock Band and Outstanding Rock Single categories.

Take a trip back to the glory days of the ’90s with this recently unearthed, 25-year-old clip from the 1991 BMAs.

If hearing screaming NKOTB fans or Bell Biv DeVoe’s “Poison” isn’t enough to get your nostalgia juices flowing, then perhaps the insane hair and fashion choices will. Seriously, what was going on with all that denim?

Even though we have a few questions about NKOTB’s fashion choices, we have to at least give props to Danny Wood for giving his city some love in the clip, saying, “We take a lot of pride in the fact that we are from Boston.”
