It’s hard to believe, but it’s been nearly 15 years since Matt Damon first took on the role of amnesiac, butt-kicking spy Jason Bourne. Boy how time flies.

While the Boston-bred actor looks buffer than ever in the latest Bourne installment, judging by a newly released featurette for the film, time has clearly taken its toll on him.

The clip kicks off with a montage of all of Damon’s appearances as Bourne, and it’s pretty incredible to see how he’s aged over the years.

Not only is Bourne sporting more gray hairs these days, but he’s also having trouble coming to terms with his identity in the latest sequel, according to Damon.

“This movie finds him in a really dark place,” the actor says in the clip. “He’s basically pounding other human beings into oblivion just to cope with the thoughts in his head.”

Just a suggestion, but maybe Bourne needs a therapist and not a bunch of human punching bags.

Despite the spy’s personal issues, Damon couldn’t stop gushing over the character, which means we’ll likely see Bourne on the big screen for a very long time.

“Every airport I’m in or every time I’m walking down the street and somebody stops me, that’s the first question: ‘Are you gonna do another one of those Bourne movies?’” Damon says. “I love making these movies.”
