Louis CK Is Playing a Pop-Up Show in Boston Tonight

He's in town for a surprise performance at the Paradise Rock Club.

Update, July 6: Louis CK announced that he’s playing another surprise show in Massachusetts, this time at the Somerville Theatre on Wednesday night at 10 p.m. Unfortunately, tickets to the events are already sold out.

Boston comedy fans are in for a treat as Louis CK is coming back to town for a special performance.

The Newton native will be playing a surprise, pop-up show at the Paradise Rock Club on Tuesday night. According to Boston.com, the superstar comedian announced the news via an email to his subscribers.

“I am doing a show at ‘The Paradise’ in Boston at 967 Commonwealth Avenue,” CK wrote. “[Tickets] will be available from now until showtime.”

The show is set to start at 8 p.m. with doors opening at 7 p.m. Tickets are $20 each with no extra fees, however, they will only be available through the Paradise Rock Club’s box office.

Coming back to the Bay State will be a bit of a homecoming for the comedian, who recently told Vulture about the tough time he had cutting his teeth on the local comedy scene in Boston back in the day.

“I started in the clubs in Boston,” CK said. “You had to get huge laughs or you might actually get beaten up.”

In case you can’t catch his show tonight, the comedian will be back in the Massachusetts area later this summer. CK’s latest stand-up tour is set to take over the MassMutual Center in Springfield on Saturday, August 6.

Louis CK performs at the Paradise Rock Club on Tuesday, July 5 at 8 p.m. Doors open at 7 p.m. Tickets are $20 each and only available through the venue’s box office.
