Matt Damon is starring in another big action thriller, and no, it’s not a Jason Bourne sequel.

The first trailer for the actor’s next blockbuster project, The Great Wall, dropped on Thursday and the debut teaser is pretty intense.

Damon’s character, who rocks a sweet but unfortunately fake ponytail in the film, can be seen going toe-to-toe with giant monsters that are attacking China’s iconic Great Wall. Set 1,000 years in the past, the movie looks to be a mix between an historical epic and a science fiction thriller.

The Great Wall, which marks the English-language debut of legendary director Zhang Yimou, is a record breaking project for China’s moviemaking industry. According to Entertainment Weekly, the film is the most expensive movie that’s ever been shot entirely in the country.

Yimou told EW that he felt very fortunate to work with people like Damon on the project.

“They are wonderful actors and helped me tremendously,” he said. “Especially Matt, who won an Oscar for screenwriting at such a young age—he is very creative and smart and contributed so much to the dialog.”

Check out the first trailer below.

The Great Wall, which also stars Pedro Pascal and Willem Dafoe, hits theaters on February 17, 2017.
