You Can Open for OneRepublic and Shaggy at Mixfest 2016 in Boston
MIX 104.1 is bringing a stacked lineup of musicians to the annual MIXFest in Boston next month.
The free concert at the DCR Memorial Hatch Shell is celebrating its 23rd anniversary with performances by the band OneRepublic, singer-songwriter Ingrid Michelson, as well as reggae star Shaggy. Plus, as per tradition, this year’s festivities will kick off with a local music act selected by MIX 104.1’s and Regina Pizzeria’s “15 Seconds of Fame” contest.
Prior to the evening’s big performances, one special winner will get a chance to take the stage for an opening number that will last up to 15 minutes. In addition to the showcase, the winner will receive two backstage passes, 10 VIP seats, and an opportunity to hang out with the artists that are coming to town.
If they think they’ve got what it takes to open for Mixfest, acts consisting of two or less people are encouraged to send in video applications, as long as the applicants are Massachusetts, New Hampshire, or Rhode Island residents who are 18 years of age or older. The deadline to enter the contest is September 1.
Mixfest 2016 returns to the DCR Memorial Hatch Shell on Saturday, September 17. The event is free and open to the public. For more information, check out mix1041.cbslocal.com.
