Jeffrey Mayi had the Internet in tears this summer after a video of him meeting his mom for the first time in 10 years went viral.

His mother, Madeline, hasn’t been able to see Mayi or her recently born grandson Christian in the U.S. due to the high cost of traveling from Libreville, Gabon. She finally got the chance to fly over in July to surprise her son, thanks to the help of his brother Axel and Mayi’s girlfriend Shannon Slattery, who posted the heartwarming clip.

Let’s make this go viral share after watching if you cried!

Jeffrey’s brother surprised him today by flying in from Florida to meet Christian and I. Jeff’s mom came all the way from Libreville, Gabon. Jeff hasn’t seen his mom in 10 years his reaction is priceless. I love my man and his huge heart. Love my new family too.

On Monday, Ellen DeGeneres invited the Lynn couple on her show to talk about the video and Mayi’s tearful reaction to his mother’s impromptu visit. Little did Slattery know that her boyfriend had a surprise of his own in store as a thank-you for orchestrating the family reunion.

As his mom watched from the audience, Mayi got down on one knee and proposed to his girlfriend midway through their Ellen appearance. DeGeneres then surprised both of them by presenting an early wedding gift of $10,000.
