Matt Damon and Ben Affleck Reprise Roles for Good Will Hunting Live Read
The original Will Hunting and Chuckie Sullivan crashed John Krasinski’s star-studded live read of Good Will Hunting on Friday night.
Matt Damon and Ben Affleck surprised the audience by reprising their iconic roles at a Live Read New York event directed by Krasinski. According to a video from the evening, the former Office actor was beyond thrilled to share the stage with the Oscar-winning stars.
“We’ll begin again as the 16-year-old self in me cries inside,” Krasinski joked after introducing the duo during the show. “I’m having a full anxiety attack. I hope you are too.”

In addition to Damon and Affleck, the A-list cast included Hamilton actor Daveed Diggs, comedian Keegan-Michael Key, Spotlight director Tom McCarthy, producer Harvey Weinstein, and Krasinski’s wife Emily Blunt, who played Will’s love interest Skylar.
The role of Sean Maguire, made famous by the late Robin Williams, went to Krasinski’s The Hollars co-star Margo Martindale. According to People, the actor and director explained recasting the character as a woman because “no man can ever do what [Williams] did.”
