Did the beloved Boston icon move to the Big Apple?

It looks like Keytar Bear is expanding his fanbase outside of Boston.

The mysterious street performer—or a doppelgänger who bares an uncanny resemblance to the furry musician—was recently spotted rocking out to the Rolling Stones’ classic “Start Me Up” in New York City. A video of the impromptu show caught the attention of Mick Jagger, who shared the clip via his official Facebook page on Tuesday.

“Seen on the New York City sidewalk, a cuddly cover of ‘Start Me Up,'” Jagger wrote in the post.

Perhaps the singer learned about the legend of Keytar Bear during the Rolling Stones’ recent trip to Massachusetts for a private party hosted Patriots owner Robert Kraft. If the band is ever in need of a keytar player, at least they know who to call now.

Although it’s nice to see Keytar Bear spreading musical joy to the people of New York, hopefully this doesn’t mean that he’s moving to the Big Apple for good. Losing a local icon like Keytar Bear would be a huge blow to his fans here in Boston.
