The first official full-length trailer for Jackie is finally here, after the premiere of a teaser trailer last month. The film, which covers the assassination of John F. Kennedy from the perspective of his widow, stars Natalie Portman in the title role. The trailer, brief and moody as it is, shows the shattering psychological weight of what Jackie Onassis Kennedy had to endure in the days following JFK’s death, from planning his funeral, to giving interviews, to figuring out how to console her children. Portman’s performance has already drawn praise following the film’s appearance at various festivals, with signs pointing to her being an Oscar frontrunner for her role.

The movie comes out December 2 and also stars Peter Sarsgaard, Billy Crudup, John Hurt, and Greta Gerwig, with Sarsgaard appearing as Robert Kennedy, and Crudup playing a journalist interviewing Kennedy.

And if you’re really craving movie trailers about tragic events connected to Massachusetts, the latest Patriots Day trailer also came out today.
