Before you make the trek to Vermont in search of fresh powder, consider assuming the role of ski bum somewhere a little closer to home. This season, three hotels in the Berkshires are partnering with ski resorts to offer budget-friendly stays for guests across the region. Called the “Ski and Stay a While” package, the deal can be used at the Red Lion Inn in Stockbridge, the newly established (and acclaimed) Hotel on North in Pittsfield, and the Porches Inn at MassMoCA in North Adams.

The package starts at $205 per night. It differs depending on which hotel you choose, but can include lift tickets to Jiminy Peak Ski Resort or Ski Butternut, which both boast more than 100 acres of trails for all experience levels. Each package includes either discounted meals or complimentary breakfast. Plus, the Berkshires offer more than skiing, snowboarding, and snowshoeing—a trip out west is an opportunity to explore the area’s contemporary arts scene at MASS MoCA, the Clark, the Norman Rockwell Museum, and more.
