February 27 marks John Steinbeck’s 115th birthday. During any other year, a literature lover could celebrate by reading one of his 27 books, but this year, Steinbeck fans can commemorate the Nobel Prize-winning author with a trip to Sag Harbor, Long Island, where he spent the last 13 years of his life.

Baron’s Cove, a hotel and resort in Sag Harbor, was a frequent hangout of Steinbeck’s (as well as a favorite of Kurt Vonnegut’s and Truman Capote’s). To mark Steinbeck 115th birthday, Baron’s Cove is offering a true literary escape—guests who present a library card while booking a stay during February or March receive a special rate of $115 per night.

The Celebrating Steinbeck package includes two free Jack Rose cocktails—Steinbeck’s drink of choice—and continental breakfast, plus the option to order pork posole—Steinbeck’s favorite meal—in the dining room. Guests who spend the night on Sunday, February 26, stay free on Steinbeck’s birthday, Monday, February 27. And for fans of Travels with Charley: In Search of America, dogs are welcome to kick back with you, too.
