The World Oceans Day Celebration Package
Where: The Meadowmere Resort, 74 Main St., Ogunquit, Maine
When: June 9 through 11
How much: Starting at $179 per night

Thursday, June 8 marks World Oceans Day, a global holiday dedicated to ocean conservation. This year, in addition to reducing plastic pollution, you can celebrate in another way: by kicking back on the water. Ogunquit’s Meadowmere Resort is honoring Southern Maine’s connection to the sea by offering a World Oceans Day Celebration package into the weekend.

The hotel takes part in an environmental leadership program, and strives to make each stay as eco-friendly as possible. To kick off a World Oceans Day stay, the Meadowmere is hosting an “eco tour,” giving guests a behind-the-scenes look at the resort’s sustainability endeavors. There will be discounts at the resort’s pub, free continental breakfast, daily eco-showings in the TV room, and free parking for one vehicle.

The Meadowmere will also help arrange outings to explore Southern Maine’s environment, including a hike to the top of Mt. Agamenticus, a guided bird walk of Laudholm Farm, a trip to York’s farmer’s market, and surfing and paddleboard lessons at Ogunquit Beach.
