Figure skaters, stilt-walkers, cotton candy, and, of course, pints of Trillium beers. That’s what you can find at the “Winter Carnival” the folks behind the brand-new outdoor skating rink in the Fenway have planned for its grand opening

The new 6,000-square-foot rink located outside the neighborhood’s new Time Out Market food hall and next to the Trillium taproom officially opens for its first season on Monday, December 16. On Wednesday, visitors can attend a wintry bonanza celebrating the big debut.  Skating will be free beginning at 3 p.m., then at a celebration from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m., there will be music, live ice-sculpting, food carts with fried dough, hot dogs, and cotton candy, stilt walkers from the Boston Circus Guild sporting “glow lights,” and a figure skating performance, according to a news release. The brewery will be handing out “snack vouchers” along with pours of its hazy beers, too.

Between now and February, the rink will be open seven days a week: from 3-8 p.m. on weekdays, from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Saturdays, and from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Sundays. Want to get in the spirit of the season, but can’t skate? You can also sign up for lessons held before the rink opens on Saturday mornings.

Not into skating? There’s still plenty of seasonally appropriate fun on the docket at what they’ve dubbed “Boston’s Winter Playground,” including make-your-own s’more and gingerbread cookie bars, snow sculpture-building contests, and other all-age activities, courtesy of REI.

It’s the latest skating rink to pop up in the area in what has quickly become a wintertime trend. Another skating rink opened for the season in the Seaport last week, and the rink in Kendall Square opens this weekend. The Rink at 401 Park opens Monday, December 16. Tickets are $10 per person, or $6 for students, seniors, and children under 12. Skate rentals are $6.
