A Soundtrack for Sal and Deval

1219413788In today’s Globe, we get insight into how Gov. Deval Patrick and House Speaker Sal DiMasi have mended their relationship. It seems they like to go someplace private, have a few drinks, and talk about their feelings.

After the jump, Boston Daily creates a playlist that every Italian restaurant in the North End should keep on hand in case the couple comes in to hash out their problems over an order of calamari.

Scenes from an Italian Restaurant” by Billy Joel
It works on so many levels. DiMasi and Patrick worked through their problems in an unnamed North End spot. And then there’s the lyrics. “They started to fight when the money got tight/and they just didn’t count on the tears.” Perfect.

Reunited” by Peaches and Herb
And it feels so good! Gov. Patrick gets his legislation passed, and DiMasi has a powerful friend as his colleagues maneuver to get his job.

Love Letter” by Bonnie Raitt
The Globe reports that DiMasi keeps a letter of apology from Patrick under the blotter on his desk. That’s touching.

Sometimes You Can’t Make it On Your Own” by U2
Even in a state government that’s controlled by one party.

Seriously, we’re happy Sal and Deval are putting aside their petty differences. Isn’t that the way the political process is supposed to work? Yeah, we’re kidding.
