The difference between general and cosmetic dentistry is that general dentistry focuses on the prevention and treatment of oral disease through good oral hygiene and timely diagnoses. Cosmetic dental care steps beyond this focus into the arena of self-image, self-confidence, and quality of life.

Though often considered to be elective dental procedures, cosmetic dentistry can be a necessity for people suffering injuries or diseases that damage their teeth and affect their appearance. Dr. Mujica provides procedures with benefits beyond pure aesthetics. Many aesthetic problems also can have health consequences. Here are a few of the different cosmetic dental procedures she offers her patients: Complete Smile Makeovers, Dental Implant Crowns, Dental Veneers, Teeth Whitening, Tooth-Colored Fillings, All Porcelain Dental Crowns and Dental Bonding.

Botox is generally a cosmetic procedure to reduce the appearance of aging by reducing wrinkles and fine lines in your skin. However, there is a revolutionary new application in dentistry. Dental Botox injections help patients ease and often eliminate headaches caused by tooth grinding and orofacial pain. Botox also helps with TMJ pain. Dr. Mujica is certified by the American Academy of Facial Esthetics in the therapeutic use of Botulinum Toxin (Botox & Xeomin) to treat TMJ, headache, and orofacial pain. She also performs cosmetic enhancements, decreasing the appearance of aging by reducing muscle movement. In addition, she uses dermal fillers to achieve a more relaxed and smooth facial appearance while still allowing freedom of expression.
