Dr. Michael Faynzilberg’s passion for dentistry began at age 11, when he began to play with the wax and gold used to make dental restorations at his mentor Dr. Valdemar Welz’s office. Throughout high school, Dr. Faynzilberg (or Dr. Michael, as his patients know him) worked in the office, developing impeccable pride in his work. Dr. Faynzilberg graduated from Boston University in 2013 with multiple awards for outstanding patient care, and went on to became a faculty member at BU. Aft er working for Dr. Welz, he met Dr. Sidney Whiting, the previous owner of Whiting Dental Arts. Dr. Faynzilberg fell in love with the practice, becoming the new owner in 2017. He continues Dr. Whiting’s legacy of honest, family-centered dental care using the latest in dental technology to create same day aesthetic restorations. With an expert, friendly staff that truly cares about patients’ well-being and dental health, Dr. Faynzilberg’s practice is second-to-none.

I was born in the southern part of Ukraine. My family immigrated to the USA in 1991 when I was 5 years old. My passion for dentistry began at the age of 11 when I started going to my Mentor's (Dr. Valdemar Welz) office, playing with various dental laboratory equipment in his lab. The day they let me melt gold with a blowtorch was the day I decided to be a dentist. My passion carried me through Boston University Goldman School of Dental Medicine, where I graduated Cum Laude while winning multiple awards for outstanding care and patient management.
We start with a cleaning and detailed comprehensive exam. Dr. Michael takes the time to listen to the patient and get to know their individual dental needs. Dr. Michael is also passionate about preventative care and during this appointment individualized home care is discussed with each patient.
While I love all aspects of dentistry and taking care of patients. There is a great satisifaction I get from doing a same day cosmetic makeover for a patient. The technical challenges of combining science, art and technology to be able to remake someones smile in one day are thrilling; not to mention the reaction of the before and after pictures.
I am the 3rd owner of the practice. I have inherited a legacy of 75 years of exceptional dental care by Dr. Willins and Dr. Whiting. I strive to continue there traditional.
I had a great experience with Dr. Michael Faynzilberg and his staff. I had always wanted to have my front teeth veneered, and Dr. Michael was able to complete them in a single visit! I couldn't be happier with my results. Dr. Michael is very knowledgeable in the most cutting-edge techniques and procedures. He cares about your comfort and achieving the best results, and he wants to make sure you're happy with everything he does. Using the latest technology, he is a skillful artist in the field of dentistry. I would recommend him highly to anyone.

As a patient of Whiting Dental Arts for the last 20 years, I can tell you that my experience has been all good. The staff has been relatively unchanged, and I love everyone there. My dental care with Dr. Whiting was top-notch. And now with the addition of Dr. Mike, the office is even better! Dr. Mike made my crown and put it in my mouth in the same day – no need for a temporary crown and repeat visits. Dr. Mike has repaired several of my teeth, and he is always upbeat and explains everything. I'm glad to be a patient there!

I have been a patient of Dr. Whiting for over 40 years, and I was a little apprehensive when he brought in a new dentist as he moves toward retirement. I met Dr. Michael when I needed a consult for an implant, and any apprehension disappeared. Dr.Michael was extremely detailed and pleasant as he explained the complicated and unusual process I would need given that my implant would be in my upper right quadrant and very close to a sinus cavity. The process took the normal six months, and each step went flawlessly. I was very happy with the whole process and, today, I can’t tell the implant from my own teeth.
