Store Opening: Kiehl’s in Burlington

1212765608We were pretty jazzed when Kiehl’s decided to open its hallowed doors on Newbury Street six years ago, and when the beauty legend joined the roster of stores at the Burlington Mall Wednesday night, we made sure we were there, too.

In celebration of the store’s grand opening, native Burlington Amy Poehler was there to accept donations on behalf of Kiehl’s to some of her favorite charities: Rosie’s Place, the Children’s Hospital Boston – Cystic Fibrosis Center, and the Burlington High School drama department. Dressed in a gorgeous cerulean dress with modest scoop-neck, Poehler joked about being back in her home town.

“It’s really odd to be in the Burlington Mall without being asked to move along,” she laughed.

1212765703Keeping with the style of its other stores, the Burlington branch was modern and cool with vintage Kiehl’s ads and funky prints of Kiehl’s products in bold colors lining the walls. Aside from the bowls filled with colorful glosses and shimmering glass chandeliers, the stand-out design accessory was a sleek Indian motorcycle parked in the corner of the small storefront. Exclusive Kiehl’s dopp kits inspired by West Coast Choppers’ Jesse James rounded out the edgy vibe in black leather with white eagle detailing.

Poehler hung around the store for the opening celebrations, talking with current Burlington High students as well as fans, and kept the event light with her teasing commentary.

“Everything’s free, so take whatever you want!”
