Stuff We Love: Fabulous Sales
Since window shopping can literally be painful this time of year, Boston store owners are giving customers another reason (besides the promise of a heating unit) to shop. We’ve rounded up the best steals and deals around to help you save some cash while refreshing your closet.
Your curves may be hidden by a puffy black coat, but that doesn’t mean what’s underneath can’t still be sexy. Head to Intimacy before January 31 to stock up on slinky bras, panties, and sleepwear from La Perla, Chantelle, Aubade, Simon Perele, and more. BOSTONISTA EXCLUSIVE: Mention Bostonmagazine.com and get an additional 10 percent off sale items. 100 Huntington Ave., Boston, 857-277-7887, myintimacy.com.
Boldfacers‘ Stylemakers Pop-Up, January 27 at the W Hotel, is a rummage sale for sophisticates. Comprised of pieces from the closets of stylephiles and fashion editors around the city (Boston’s own fashion queen, executive lifestyle editor Alexandra Hall, will be there), this event gives new meaning to the idea of hand-me-downs. The sale will run from 7 to 11 p.m. for $10 admittance; eager beavers can attend the VIP reception ? and start browsing a full hour earlier ? for an extra $15. W Hotel, 100 Stuart St., Boston, email@example.com.
That same weekend, Cynthia Rowley kicks off a sample sale, offering select clothing and accessories up to 80 percent off (cash and major credit cards accepted). Held from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday through Saturday, and 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday, it’s a four-day smorgasbord of savings. 164 Newbury St., Boston, 617-587-5240, cynthiarowley.com.
If you’re as intent as we are on fleeing the recent snowpocalypse, Passport’s “baggage claim” sale is a godsend. Through the end of the month the store is offering a 20 percent discount on luggage and bags by designers such as Brics, Bree, Mandarina Duck, MZ Wallace, Saltbox, and Hayden-Harnett ? giving you the perfect excuse (and suitcase) to jet off to warmer climes. 43 Brattle St., Cambridge, 617-576-0900, passportboutique.com.
