Boston Fashion Week: The Launch

Editor’s note: Boston magazine is a Tent at Boston Fashion Week partner.

The city’s fashionistas were in their Sunday best for the Launch show at the Tent. Five recent fashion grads — all women — showed their inspired 12-piece collections on the runway. Here are five things that caught our eye:

1. Yellow Tights:

Christine Lam showed them with a slinky blocked dress.

2. Sexy back:

Chains dripped across the open back of this petal hem Lam confection. (Unfortunately, we couldn't get a proper photo of it. Thanks, iPhone.)

3. Oh-so-wearable shorts:

Karina Bresnahan sent these kicky orange shorts down the runway in her sportswear and swim-heavy show. (Loved the feather and charm embellishments on the suits; very tribal meets rock 'n' roll.)

4. Strong shoulders:

Several pieces in Mishal Kizilbash's rich, detailed collection featured armor-like epaulets and serious shoulders.

5. Oversize blooms:

There was a veritable pansy garden sprouting from Candice Wu's evening gown — the final look of the Launch.
