Meet the Mimomicro Card Reader

It's stylish data storage from a Boston-based company.

Our tech gadgets are more than just useful tools helping us navigate the ins and outs of our lives — they’ve become accessories. And, we’ll take any excuse to dress them up, because there’s nothing more alienating and unattractive than a piece of cold metal.

That’s the philosophy behind the teensy Mimobot flash drive and card reader, the latest from Boston-based tech gadget company Mimoco, which hits stores this month. It’s barely bigger than a quarter (measuring 1.6″ by 1″), and comes loaded with an LED indicator light and a built-in keychain. It features a USB drive and a microSD card reader that transfers information between all of your tech devices—including smart phones, tablets, e-readers, digital cameras, and computers—making it that much easier to have all your data at your fingertips when you’re on-the-go.

Six years ago, the original Mimobot flash drive hit the market, taking an unassuming object and repackaging it to embody some of pop culture’s most darling personas like Hello Kitty, Batman, even Albert Einstein. The Mimomicro is a smaller and more useful progeny of the Mimobot.

So if you’re sick of the same old utilitarian devices, upgrade to a funky flash drive that shows off your style and strengths, like Wonder Woman, or for your darker side, Darth Vader.
