After 25-plus years in the optical business, Lunette Optic’s husband-and-wife owners, Ted Mogtader and Michelle Rahimian, knew precisely what they wanted for their new house-brand eyewear collection, Mora (combining the first letters of their last names). You might even say they had a vision. “We always felt like there was a gap in the market for stuff that’s unique and different and doesn’t just follow trends,” Mogtader says. “Our styles are clean, simple, and a little retro.” It took a couple of years for the duo to find the right manufacturer for their acetate and titanium designs (crafted in France and Japan, respectively) and get the prototypes perfect. The result is a line of refined, unisex specs that feel at home among frames from Anne et Valentin, IC! Berlin, and other high-end designers already on Lunette’s shelves.
