Big Brothers Big Sisters of Massachusetts Bay celebrated their 15th annual Big Night, a cocktail party and private concert to raise money for the organization.

This year, the organization honored one of Boston’s most notable women—the super gracious and amazingly philanthropic Sandra (Sandy) Edgerley—followed by performances by Fitz and the Tantrums and headliners The Black Crowes.

The event’s invite encouraged folks to dive deep into their closets for “chic vintage rocker” attire, which for most attendees meant boring denim, leather booties, concert T-shirts, and teased hair. But a brave few pieced together truly rockin’ looks that caught our attention. In no particular order:

BBBSGB CEO, Wendy Foster, nailed the rock star-chic look with leather leggings, and neon-bright costume jewelry:

Honoree Sandy Edgerley rocked black ostrich feathers and layered diamonds:

We loved guest Scot Hamburger’s preppy take on rockerwear with his dapper hat and vest, ripped jeans and peace sign bowtie:

Publicist Rachel Walt’s electric blue shoes were the best in show:

North End recruiter Kelly Sturma channeled 80’s-era rock and roll with her Americana denim vest, ripped black skinny jeans, and studded platform pumps:

Other notables include the bash’s MCs Bianca De La Garza and Billy Costa (who are both embarking on new entertainment broadcasts), a tipsy Kate Lubin in an 80’s Madonna inspired getup, news anchor Janet Wu and her electric blue teased wig, and Kate Chertavian, the über-cool Brit-it art consultant.

Both bands killed it onstage, but we hear that the Crowes were squawking divas backstage while Fitz and crew couldn’t have been more gracious and accommodating. You’d think that the supposed $100,000 payoff and raising money for a noble cause would have kept egos at bay—not so much. In the end, the hipsters stole the show—way to keep it classy, Fitz and Co.

The night ended with hundreds of party-going rookies stumbling out of the venue, with the House of Blues momentarily resembling a college fraternity…but, hey, these siblings deserved to let loose as they celebrated a remarkable organization while raising $2 million in the process.
