Between the Museum of Fine Arts’ “#techstyle” exhibit and Queen Anna Wintour’s Met Gala featuring fashion in the age of technology, the industry’s most forward-thinking designers are top of mind this month. And in a tech hub like Boston, you don’t have to look far to find one. Somerville-based company Nervous System is at the forefront of 3-D-printed style with its cutting-edge textiles and baubles. Its latest design takes cues from May’s blooms: Constructed with 118 interlocking nylon “petals” connected with hinges, this florid collar necklace makes a truly futuristic statement. For a bolder look, check out Nervous System’s “Kinematic Petals” dress, which features the same cascading flower effect, on display at the MFA through July 10.
