Boston dress rental company Best Dressed opens its second location in South Boston Wednesday, ensuring that women all over the city have their couture needs met at a fraction of the retail cost. The new boutique will include an expanded space, additional dressing rooms, and a wider selection of dresses for rent.
Founded in 2015 by sisters Nikoleta and Vicky Lirantonakis, Best Dressed is a local outlet for women who don’t want their wallets to suffer at the expense of looking fabulous. Customers are fitted and styled in store and can rent their dresses for up to five days, with prices ranging from $40-$150 per garment. For whatever the special occasion calls, Best Dressed offers a range of cocktail, day, and black-tie dresses from lust-worthy labels like Vera Wang, Badgley Mischka, and Diane von Furstenburg, as well as a variety of designer handbags and jewelry for sale to complete head-to-toe ensembles.
Featuring art deco light fixtures and a sleek white display, the flagship store—designed by Boston-based interior designer Caroline Hughes—boasts a “modern glam” aesthetic for the ultimate A-list experience. In contrast to its more traditionally designed Charlestown boutique, the brand seeks to cater to a slightly younger, edgier demographic with its latest update.
“I don’t know if I ever thought we’d grow this quickly, but it’s very exciting,” says Nikoleta. “Overall, I think Southie is going to be awesome for our brand and is the perfect next step.”
In addition to their new location, Best Dressed also launched its in-home and in-office styling service last month to reach clients in suburbs like Brookline, Wellesley, and Newton. For those outside the city, Best Dressed brings the fairy godmother-like fashion experience right to their doorstep—if only so they don’t have to venture into the cold this winter.
Check out all the enviable options at the new store in South Boston at 489 E. Broadway, or at the brand’s Charlestown location at 197 8th St., #750, rentbestdressed.com.
