What inspired your passion for your profession?

My passion for maternal fetal medicine and medical genetics comes from growing up with two brothers who had genetic disorders. From the time I was very young, and in large part due to everything I watched my brothers and parents endure, I knew I wanted to help families who were in a similar situation as mine. I have a deep appreciation of the fear and anxiety that comes with many genetic disorders I now help families with on a daily basis.

What makes your practice stand apart?

For the past fifteen years, I have been committed to providing care to thousands of women with exceptionally complex pregnancies. Being the best in this field requires a lifelong commitment to go above and beyond in training, research, and clinical practice. To offer the best care to my patients, I obtained board certification in three separate but interconnected specialties – obstetrics and gynecology, maternal fetal medicine, and medical genetics.

What advice would you give a patient looking to find a provider in your specialty?

The unknown is very frightening. Knowledge about the cause of a particular condition is enormously powerful and can help guide families. Genetic testing can provide important information for future pregnancies. It is crucial to identify a health care provider who is appropriately trained and can provide knowledgeable guidance.
