Brigham & Women's Going To Look Just As Impressive As Harvard Medical School

Brigham & Women’s Going To Look Just As Impressive As Harvard Medical School. The Longwood-area hospital has been approved for a new $450 million “Brigham Building of the Future,” plus a $55 million lawn restoration leading to a stately neo-classic building (kind of exactly like Harvard Med’s grassy lawn leading up to its stately Gordon Hall). The construction is only part of the hospital’s new long-term plan to drastically cut costs while shifting emphasis towards long-term patient care. It’ll be a neat trick if they can pull of both goals, but if they can, it will be a huge leap forward for a country that still treats patients in the most expensive way possible: one heart attack at a time.  [Boston Globe]
