Walmart Gives to Oldways in Support of its New Ways

Walmart Gives to Oldways in Support of its New Ways. It’s been over a year since Walmart took a new pro-health stance in collaboration with First Lady Michelle Obama, promising to provide healthier, lower-priced food items and to educate its customers on making good food choices — and today, it’s just taken the next step. The Walmart Foundation has just granted $9.5 million today to nine organizations for their work in promoting healthy eating, and among the chosen few? The Boston-based nonprofit, Oldways — whom you may know better for its role in the Whole Grains Council — received $100,000 from the Foundation to support healthy changes in eating habits among the African-American community through its new African Heritage Diet program and food pyramid. Kudos! [Oldways | Walmart]
