Parks & Recreation: Development Begins on New Balance’s Boston Landing

Driving on the Pike, you may have noticed recently that two eyesores—the vacated Barry Controls and Mass Electric buildings—have disappeared. That’s because demolition has finally begun on the new Boston Landing, a development estimated to cost more than $500 million, which will house New Balance’s new world headquarters in addition to a hotel, a public sports facility with a hockey rink and indoor track, public park space, and a commuter-rail stop that goes directly to South Station.
