Charlestown Whole Foods Opening Wednesday
Whole Foods opened in Charlestown Wednesday and crowds are large enough to fill the massive 29,433 sq ft store. The new location is Whole Foods Market’s 25th in Massachusetts. Finally having a grocer back in Charlestown is a huge relief for residents that have been living in a food desert since last fall when Whole Foods bought Johnnie’s Foodmaster and closed the store to renovate. The usual variety of local and organic groceries, produce, seafood and meats, along with prepared foods are offered. This new location also has a fruit and vegetable juice bar, espresso bar, in-house bakery, and a European cheese room.
The Charlestown store will be open seven days a week from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. Reaction on Twitter has been mostly positive.
