Once we found out that Andy Murray practices Pilates, we were hooked on the challenging workout. Pilates works your muscles in a low-impact way and it stresses power, control, and flexibility. It’s a great compliment to other types of workouts, like yoga and cycling, and it also prepares you well for other athletic activities like tennis and golf. Want to give it a try? Head to one of these local Pilates studios.

This boutique studio offers private and small group lessons that center around customized programs for each individual. Two of their most popular options are duet or trio classes, which allow you to workout with a friend or two while still getting personalized attention. Most private lesson classes offer workouts on Pilates equipment, while Pilates mat classes teach alignment and technique. Mat classes are limited to eight participants, and pre and post-natal classes and Pilates for golfers classes are also offered throughout the year.
