As the city cools off and pumpkin spice lattes return, Boston’s farmers markets are switching into high gear for their last two months. Here’s where to find your essential fall vegetables and organic products from local farms.
Allston Village Farmers’ Market
Conveniently located at the intersection of Brighton Avenue and Cambridge Street, this market is popular with students and lovers of organic coffee. Sample delicious pastries from Treats on Washington and stock up on fresh seasonal produce. But at this farmer’s market, it’s all about the famous apple cider donuts.

Boston University Farmers’ Market
BU’s annual market opened for its fifth year last week and plays host to several local farms including Marshall’s Farm Stand and Ward’s Berry Farm. In addition to local produce and artisans, you’ll also find live music and BU Bikes, the university’s biking community club.

Bowdoin/Geneva Farmers’ Market
Hosted by the Bowdoin Street Health Center, the Bowdoin/Geneva market is known for its youth gardeners who periodically sell produce they themselves grow, and for its special events. Join them for their Halloween festival this year on October 31st for trick-or-treating!

Copley Square Farmers’ Market
Copley Square is home to one of the largest markets in the state and is a hot tourist destination as well as a convenient shopping area for Boston residents. Dozens of local farms are represented in the square every week, providing everything from fresh bread to seasonal vegetables to authentic Mediterranean cuisine.

Jamaica Plain Farmers’ Market
Founded in 1984 by a small group of JP residents, this market is a small neighborhood gathering place. Stillman’s Farm provides all the produce you need for your Thanksgiving feast.

Boston Public Market at Dewey Square
This market is operated by the non-profit Boston Public Market. It features delicious fresh bread, sustainable food from the Lilac Hedge Farm, and fresh Massachusetts seafood.

Roslindale Farmers’ Market
The Roslindale market is held in picturesque Adams Park and features twenty-five vendors weekly. Alongside stands like Taza Chocolate, and Violette Gluten Free Bakery, you’ll find live acoustic music and free kid’s activities every week, which makes Roslindale the place to be on Saturday mornings.
