It’s no secret that indoor cycling studios are popping up all over Greater Boston. We’ve covered the trend and the impressive number of studios opening around the city many times. The Handle Bar, which was the second company to open a studio in the city, is opening its second location in the Fenway neighborhood April 12.

Owner Jessica Bashelor says that she recognized the opportunity for growth just a few months after opening the original location. “With the new studio, I hope to expand on all of the elements that the Handle Bar has brought to Boston’s indoor cycling community and become an integral part of the Fenway neighborhood,” Bashelor says. “I want the studio to be a place where women and men of varying fitness levels come together for the common goal of completing a serious workout while still having fun.”

The Fenway studio will look similar to the Southie studio and will feature 35 brand new, clip-in Schwinn AC Sport bikes. Classes will feature top of the line speakers, unique playlists, music-syncopated lighting effects, regularly scheduled theme rides such as Glo-Cycle, as well as classes featuring a live in-studio DJ. Each class also includes an arm exercise series with a weighted bar.

The Handle Bar offers a single class for $20, and also offers class packages that range in price from $95 to $640. Riders also have the option to purchase a one month unlimited class package for $175 or a one year unlimited class package for $1680. Bikes can be reserved online up to seven days in advance and walk-ins are also welcome. Shoe rentals are $2.
