The Seventh Annual Zumba Master Class Is Back

It's five full hours---yes five!---of dancing.

The seventh annual New England Zumba Master Class—the biggest Zumba event in our region—is back March 29 at the Reggie Lewis Track and Athletic Center in Roxbury.

The event, which is open to everyone—instructors and current students included—is five hours of dancing, hosted by professional dancer Liana Veda.

The event has sold out the last six years, so they are not even offering a walk-in rate. You must pre-register, and it costs $50 for an individual; $40 as a group rate; and $75 if you want the VIP treatment (spaces in front of the stage, early admittance, and a meet and greet with the special guests). Technically, that means it’s just $10 an hour. Or in Zumba terms, like five cents a calorie.

In addition to Veda, other master instructors attending include: Ann Saldi of Mass.; Lindsey Taylor of Utah; Sandra Harnes of the U.K.; Armando Salcedo of Miami; and Heidy Torres of Miami.

It doesn’t look like Lil’ Jon will once again grace us with his presence, even though he’s an official Zumba DJ. This event will feature DJ Gringo.

The event begins promptly at 10 a.m. but registered guests are asked to arrive early. To register, visit lianaveda.com.
