Matthew Noszka, the New ‘It’ Male Model, Has Celtics Ties

He was discovered on Instagram.

Matthew Noszka, a 22-year-old from Pittsburgh, was used to playing basketball in a gym, waiting tables, and working in construction. Like most people his age, the really, really, ridiculously good looking male college student posted a few shirtless pictures to Instagram. Now, the 6-foot-2 blond is a top male model booking gigs for Nike, Calvin Klein, and Hugo Boss.

On Thursday night, Noszka was featured on “Nightline” for his extraordinary rise to the top of the modeling world in such a short amount of time, and how it all came about through social media. His shirtless photos and Instagram videos of playing basketball is what caught the eye of Wilhelmina agent Luke Simone, who signed him right away.

“He had some great photos and videos of him dunking,” Simone told the NY Post.

But for Noszka, those dunking skills are definitely inherited.

“My grandfather played for the Celtics,” Noszka told the NY Post. “I always wanted to play professional basketball overseas.

His grandfather was Stanley Noszka, a bench player who spent two seasons with the Celtics in the late-1940s. He died in 1991 at the age of 90. After just a couple of seasons with the Celtics, Noszka left basketball and went on to serve as a member of the Pennsylvania State Senate from 1967 to 1978.

While Matthew Noszka won’t be lacing up for the Celtics any time soon, it was his ability to dunk a basketball and look great while doing it that launched him to male model stardom.
