The MFA Is Offering Yoga This Summer
The Boston tradition of holding yoga classes in unique places (read: flower gardens, Fenway Park, breweries, cideries, the Gillette Stadium Field House) continues this summer with two events taking place at the MFA.
On July 16 and August 13, from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m., the MFA will host “Yoga en Plein Air,” a new event that incorporates art with the mind-body practice of yoga. Hosted by Beth Pugliano, an adjunct professor at Boston University, and Rebecca Sisson, owner and yoga instructor Riverside Yoga and Massage in Newburyport, participants will meet at the Jean S. and Frederic A. Sharf Visitor Center before venturing outside to begin.
Admission for yoga at the MFA is pricey ($32 for MFA members; $40 for non-members) but that includes a talk about the sculptures on the grounds, as part of the “lectures and courses” series.
At this time, MFA reps are not 100 percent sure where exactly the class will be held, but we are told it will be outside (weather permitting). Let’s hope the class takes place in the beautiful and newly reopened Japanese Garden.
