Fitbit is bringing its free group fitness classes to Boston, in a big way.

Already operating in four West Coast cities, the Fitbit Local program holds massive free fitness events each month. Exhibit A: More than 500 people are already registered for the first Fitbit Local Boston event, a 45-minute bootcamp class followed by a 45-minute yoga flow—taught by Fitbit Ambassadors Chad Flahive and Cara Gilman, respectively—at the SOWA Power Station. In addition to being possibly the largest group fitness class you’ll ever take, it’ll be followed by raffles, healthy snacks, and music from a live DJ.

If you can’t make it to the kickoff extravaganza on April 23, no worries. Fitbit will be holding other events throughout the summer, including a bootcamp class in the Boston Common on May 12, and a yoga and running combo workout on June 12. More will be announced as the spring and summer go on.

There’s hardly a shortage of summertime free fitness in this city, but we’ll certainly never say no to another option. Welcome to the party, Fitbit.

Free, 4/23, opens at 8:30 a.m. SOWA Power Station, 540 Harrison Ave., Boston. Register at eventbrite.com.
