Take Six Specialty Fitness Classes at This Event

The Jimmy Fund Fit Fest is a fitness marathon that also benefits Dana-Farber.

Patriots’ Day may be behind us, but there’s a different kind of fitness marathon on the horizon. On May 14, the Jimmy Fund and Reebok are bringing you the Jimmy Fund Fit Fest, an all-day exercise extravaganza that benefits Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.

Participants will be able to take up to six different 30-minute classes throughout the day. The schedule includes CrossFit; bootcamp; Combat, a cardio class taught by UFC fighters; Sh’Bam, a cardio dance workout; Reebok Spartan, a full-body class inspired by the rigors of Spartan races; and yoga. If you have the energy to take all six, we salute you.

Proceeds from Fit Fest, which will be held at the Esplanade Hatch Shell, benefit Dana-Farber, so participants are required to raise at least $300 (or $150 for those ages 12 to 17) by June 14, one month after the event. There’s also a $10 registration fee.

Three hours of specialty fitness for $10 is easily the best deal in town, and you’ll be contributing to Dana-Farber’s fight against cancer while you work out. That sounds like a win-win situation.

$10 registration fee, 7 a.m., 5/14. The Hatch Shell, 47 David G. Mugar Way, Boston, jimmyfundfitfest.org.
