1. Barry’s Bootcamp

Though not technically for Mother’s Day, Barry’s Bootcamp is hosting a fitness event ripe for day-before celebrations. Start off with a full-body class at the studio, then head to Gordon’s for snacks and a rosé tasting.

The night before Mother’s Day, Relax Now in Canton is holding a pampering party complete with pedicures, facials, chair massages, wine, and refreshments.

6. Mother’s Day Walk for Peace: This 20th annual walk from Dorchester to City Hall aims to promote peace and raise $600,000 for the Louis D. Brown Peace Institute, a resource for families affected by violence, crime, and grief. Walkers are encouraged to raise at least $100 each.

7. Orangetheory Fitness

From now until May 8, all mothers are eligible for one free workout at this Brighton bootcamp studio. Moms who buy a class package during the promotion also get 50 percent off a heart rate monitor.

Celebrate the holiday while making a difference. Tempo and Pop Allston are hosting charity cycling classes that benefit social service agency Project Place.
