Seven Places to Take Beach Yoga Classes

Summer is practically synonymous with long, lazy days of beach lounging. But if you want to make your beach trips just the slightest bit less lazy, you’ve come to the right place. We found seven spots you can take beach yoga—then get right back to your day of relaxation.

1. Radiant Yoga

South Boston studio Radiant Yoga teaches a class at Castle Island’s Pleasure Bay every Sunday at 9 a.m. By the time your friends finish brunch, you’ll have worked out and staked out a prime beach spot.

2. East Side Yoga and Fitness

Rise early on Sundays for 8 a.m. yoga on Carson Beach, at the end of H Street. Classes are $10 and cash only, so make sure you hit the ATM the day before.

3. Michelle Lynn Fitness

Personal trainer Michelle Lynn is all over the beach fitness scene. She teaches beach yoga classes on Revere Beach (Tuesdays at 9:30 a.m.), Revere Beach bootcamp (Sundays at 8 a.m.), and Swampscott Beach bootcamp (Thursdays at 8 a.m.).

4. Nahant Beach Yoga and Meditation

On July 16, August 6, and August 20, you can head to Nahant Beach for free beach yoga and meditation classes.

5. Yoga Around Town

Yoga Around Town’s July event, on July 27, is a beach yoga class on Carson Beach. Class will be accompanied by live music, and followed by an after-party.

6. Love Yoga Fest

This Cape Cod yoga festival includes beach yoga classes, and quite a few other unique options (think aerial yoga, slackline fundamentals, and SUP yoga). Buy a pass for the whole weekend, one day, or one class.

7. Island Yoga

Take beach yoga one step further with classes on either Grape or Spectacle Island. Grape’s classes are on Sundays at 11:15 a.m., while Spectacle’s are on Saturdays at 10:15 a.m. Both are free, though you’ll have to pay regular ferry rates.
