What’s summer without a pool? In a word: hot. It may be a little trickier to find an in-ground oasis in the middle of the city than it is in the ’burbs, but it’s hardly impossible. Whether it’s a swanky rooftop spot or an accessible but no-frills public pool you seek, here are four prime places to visit when thermometers max out.
The Colonnade Rooftop Pool
Where: Back Bay
Cost: $45 for a day pass (pool open to the public weekdays only).
The water: A 5,400-square-foot pool that accommodates roughly 200 people.
The perks: Sweeping city vistas; gourmet food menus; morning yoga.

Float on your back at the water’s surface. Drop your hips and bring your knees to your chest. Repeat.
Standing on the pool floor, extend one leg forward and the other back. Jump, switching leg positions, while performing the same motion with your arms. Repeat.
Settle into a low squat. Jump as far out of the water as possible. Repeat.
