Neither rain nor cold could deter the massive crowd that assembled on the Boston Common Saturday for the March for Science.

The event, which also had chapters in cities across the country, was created to emphasize the importance of scientific discovery and its role in our society. It also celebrated diversity in science, and the work of people from all genders, races, and backgrounds.

Doctors and scientists from institutions including Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, Tufts, Massachusetts General Hospital, Harvard Medical School, and more were present and loud at the rally. Speakers including former EPA Administrator Gina McCarthy, famed geneticist George Church, former NASA Deputy Administrator Dava Newman, and Harvard Medical School Dean George Daley kept the crowd loud and engaged, despite the dreary day.
