Whether you’re an aspiring Olympian, entrepreneur, or just a wellness fanatic, the new Grander Summit is a day to learn from other women who have built successful and meaningful careers out of their passions.
The inaugural version of the event, which takes place on August 18 at the Boston Innovation and Design Building, is named after Nastia Liukin’s app Grander, a global platform devoted to the next generation of female athletes. The summit will more or less be a real life version of the app, given that the purpose of the app is to provide young athletes with advice from women who have succeeded in their fields, whether they’re athletes, doctors, or some other kind of mentor.
The daylong event includes a networking breakfast, a welcome address from Liukin herself, and three different panels, which focus on entrepreneurship, professional athletes, and wellness. Attendees will also get the chance to meet and chat with some of the speakers and partake in an active stretch. It is a wellness event, after all.
The entrepreneurship panel will include a range of businesswomen, including Kelly Brabants, the founder of Booty by Brabants; Tara Foley, founder of Follain; and Katie Warner Johnson; co-founder and CEO of Carbon38, and more. They’ll be speaking about how they got to where they’re at while providing useful tips you can implement in your own life.
The professional athletes’ panel will provide advice on how to apply lessons learned in the sports world to the rest of the world, and features Shawn Johnson East, Amy Purdy, Jordyn Wieber, and Laurie Hernandez, as well as Liukin herself.
And finally, the health and wellness panel includes Simone De La Rue, founder of Body by Simone; Heather Anderson, founder of New York Pilates; and others who will discuss current health trends as well as give advice on how to build a career in the industry.
A range of ticket options are available, from general admission to a VIP package that includes a special dinner with Liukin herself, if you want to get a little more face time with the gymnast (and healthy breakfast fan).
$55+, Saturday, August 18, Innovation and Design Building, 1 Design Center Place, Boston, grandersports.com.
