Your shopping experience just got a little more intimate. And by intimate, we mean it continues on into the bathroom. Now, before your creeper alarm rings, hear us out—it’s actually kind of neat.

At For Now, the retail incubator space in the Seaport, you can now step into their tiny unisex bathroom space and continue to shop. Boston-based beauty boutique agency startup Upnext is debuting a new concept called The Loo that displays personal care products such as eco-friendly tampons, charcoal face-wash, and attachable bidets—and yes, we had a hard time wrapping our heads around that one, too. An attachable bidet is just what it sounds like: a plastic contraption that slides underneath the backside of the toilet seat and comes complete with a water hookup. Patrons can sample or purchase any of the products (yes, including the bidet) in store—all on display in the bathroom. So while you’re making your way down Seaport Blvd. and are in need of a little freshening up, you’ve got just the spot.

UpNext works to incorporate innovative retail concepts into unused spaces in businesses, restaurants, offices, and hotels. “The Loo’s dynamic mix of products and services are perfectly at home within For Now,” Allison Yee, founder of UpNext, said in a press release. “We are excited to kick off the holiday season with this forward-thinking take on the retail experience.”

Inside the bathroom, decorated with peel-and-stick wallpaper covered with toucans, shoppers can try any of the sustainable bath and personal care brands highlighted in the space. Options include Poethique skin care, Tushy bidet attachments, Hello activated charcoal toothpaste, and more. Not only will full-size products be on display for purchase, but small samples can be tested within the bathroom or taken to the comfort of your own home to test. Which is actually kind of genius, because sometimes it’s hard to gauge how you’ll like a new product. And if you test out and like it, you can purchase whatever you’ve tried online at UpNext’s website.

The concept fits seamlessly into For Now’s mission of showcasing products from growing local companies for their audience and introducing their customers to new products they wouldn’t normally find. Current brands on display include Organic Bath Co., Lux & Luca Jewelry Co., and more. “We were quick to jump in when UpNext approached us about revamping our bathroom,” Katharine ReQua said in a press release. “But we couldn’t have imagined the outcome would be so perfectly aligned with our own taste.”
